About Us
Wigamig Owners Loan Fund, Inc is a Certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Per the United States Department of the Treasury: The vision of the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (the CDFI Fund) is an America in which all people have access to affordable credit, capital and financial services. We follow this vision by expanding the capacity of financial institutions to provide credit, capital, and financial services to under-served populations and communities. In the Lac Du Flambeau area we have provided several grants and loans to improve low income housing and as well as locally owned businesses. These grants and loans have increased property values in the surrounding community, as well as provided jobs and additional work for local citizens. In addition to the credit and capital side of our emerging CDFI, we provide free tax preparation assistance and other financial services to the local community. Donations are a vital part of our survival and ability to help the local community.
Our Mission
The mission of Wigamig Owners Loan Fund, Inc. is to provide tribal members with access to mortgage lending opportunities and loans, as well as down payment assistance, as we seek to encourage home ownership among tribal members in and around the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation.
